Writing Assignment: Rule of
Three Part III
It is
relatively important that
the school system
stops bullying in all
its forms for
many reasons. We will
all have to
face the consequences
of not doing
something about it. Three
of the main
reasons are to
avoid future corruptive
adults, prevent teen suicidal rates, and to
become a human
society versus quietly
supporting “savage behavior” towards others. Schools shouldn’t
depend on funds
from the government
to create measures
that can stop
bullying. Let’s just see
it in a
different perspective: If we
don’t vanish bullying
as a major
problem in our
educational system, we will have
greater consequences in
the future. The victims will eventually drop
out of school
if no encouragement
and help is given. They
will most likely depend
on government aid as adults
since their potential
of a higher
education will be taken
from them by
the bully. The bully
will become a more
offensive criminal if
not stopped in
time. In the long
run, more government funds
would be used
for jails and the government
welfare programs. It
will be way
more money that
they will use
than if schools
hired professional psychologists
to come visit
schools to talk
about bullying. They can
offer help for
both sides of
the scope. Even volunteer
psychologists can be
found. The schools are
just not looking
into this.
Kids will
get the wrong
impression that bullying
should be tolerated. Let’s just
talk about weapons
for example. Weapons are
a physical, solid form
of a threat. Schools should
not tolerate even
the simplest form
of a weapon. This
may include a
broken ruler shaped
like a shaft, pocket
knives, and even a
fiercely sharpened pencil when
pointed to the
body of another
student. All this if overseeing by
an adult in
charge, can in
fact empower a
kid to take
control over others.
I recommend that schools should rely on youth mentors to volunteer in the classrooms and talk about bullying and the consequences stated in the law of California. This will be a good opportunity to teach kids to speak out, even if they think that they are at not risk of other’s threats. It will also teach staff members in schools how to handle a situation like this. Passing out flyers about violence and crimes in schools so children can learn to distinguish warning signs of been bullied. The educational system can also create a hot line for their school to have children call confidentially to discuss a problem. There are endless ideas of how bullying can be prevented by schools. No major funds needed.
